These promotional notes have been printed by the ABNC on Tyvek® substrate in late 1970s or early 1980s for the eventual approval of the National Bank of Haiti. S1X1 and S1X2 notes below are the only known Tyvek® bank notes that carry the title of the Banque Nationale de la République d'Haïti. All other Haitian Tyvek® notes carry the title of the Banque de la République d'Haïti. The two notes are believed to be unique. They have wide margins and do not come from a sheet of multiple notes, but have been printed individually. Another indication that this was a special print run, is that the watermark eagle image appears in two rows horizontally across the notes—there are no watermarks above and below the central horizontal section of the notes (normally, watermarks are distributed evenly over the entire note), suggesting that a special Tyvek® sheet has been used for the two notes. Click on images below to view 300 dpi scans (S1X1 and S1X2 only).
