Press statement on the new K1,000 and K500 polymer notes

Canadian Bank Note Company, Limited sincerely regrets the unfortunate situation with respect to the defective serial number printing on some of the recently delivered 500 and 1,000 Kwacha polymer banknotes. We unreservedly apologize for this occurrence and accept full responsibility. 

Canadian Bank Note Company, Limited (CBN) is taking active measures to ensure the rectification of this matter and deeply regrets having caused embarrassment both to the Government and to the Bank of Zambia. CBN wishes to reassure the public that steps have been taken to avoid repetition of this error with future deliveries.
