Today, exchange of National Bank of the
Republic of Kazakhstan 200, 500, 1 000, 2 000, 5 000 and 10 000
banknotes was started. The exchange envisages concurrent circulation of
banknotes with old and new design till November 15, 2007. During this
period, both types of banknotes are considered legal means of payment,
obligatory for acceptance on all the territory of Kazakhstan, in all
types of payments, as well as bank transfers and transactions. After the
expiration of this period, old design banknotes will be exchanged for
one more year in branches and offices of National Bank. Later, old
design banknotes will be accepted by National Bank for 10 years and will
be exchange after an expertise.
JSC "Bank TuranAlem" branches will exchange banknotes at 1/1 rate,
regardless of the amount and without any commission.
BTA cash machines are being filled with new banknotes according to
previously arranged order. All cashiers in branches and offices were
prepared and instructed for exchange. Information materials (posters and
booklets) on new banknotes were produced and supplied to offices.
If
during the period of concurrent circulation of banknotes any branch
office of Bank TuranAlem will refuse to accept new or old design
banknotes, regardless of its nominal, please [contact] the Head of this
office or Chief Accountant of the branch.
Tenge coins will not change their design and will not be exchanged.
