~~~ Hybrid bank note ~~~
A medium of exchange in the form of a paper-plastic bank note that is issued by an issuing authority (central bank) and that circulates as legal tender in a particular country or monetary area. A hybrid bank note uses paper (cotton) substrate and plastic substrate as its integral, interwoven, and inseparable building components.
Note: The presence of a clear window is not required for a hybrid bank note. What is required, is a presence of both plastic and paper substrates, each as a significant building component (for example, a layered plastic-paper-plastic substrate) of a bank note, not just as a security feature (such as a plastic security thread on a paper bank note).
