Solomon Islands, 2 Dollars, issued in 2001. Issued to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the Central Bank of Solomon Islands. Representing an island nation, closely dependent on the sea, birds, fish, and marine life images appear throughout the front and the back of the note. The head of the national bird, the Sanford Pacific Eagle, in the clear window. Front: The Coat of Arms of the Solomon Islands at right. Wood carvings of porpoises, angelfish and a food bowl featured in a panel along the bottom, while a pair of porpoises form a central design. Back: Men and children driving fish into shallow water to be speared.
