Answer to an Australian parliamentary question by the Hon. Mark Vaile, Australian Minister for Trade on 04.12.00: "... Other notable companies that are doing well in the Malaysian marketplace include Note Printing Australia. Malaysia will soon be using plastic polymer banknotes made with technology developed in Australia by Note Printing Australia ..."

Front: The first King of Malaysia, Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong, at right. Prominent landmarks of the Kuala Lumpur (KL) city skyline in the centre: the Petronas Twin Towers, the KL Tower, and the Malayan Railway Administration Building in the Moorish colonial style. The KL International Airport is featured as the central backdrop. The theme of this series of Malaysian bank notes is Wawasan or Vision 2020 and it reflects Malaysia’s economic development and achievement towards a fully-developed country. The clear window incorporates an image of the Prime Minister's office at Putrajaya. Hibiscus, the national flower of Malaysia, can be seen along the top and bottom margin on both sides.
