Stane
Štraus is one of the world's leading authorities on polymer
bank note collecting; he also owns one of the world's finest polymer
bank note collections, an important part of which is presented on
this web site.
He has been interested in polymer bank notes for almost two decades.
In 2000, he worked as a Marketing Consultant for Note Printing
Australia (NPA) in Craigieburn, Australia. He has also provided
expert advice to the Slovenian Police and has testified
before the court on matters relating to bank notes. He maintains
contacts with central banks and bank note issuing authorities around
the world.
He is a
co-author of World Polymer Banknotes, an award-winning book that is recognized
as a standard reference catalogue on polymer bank notes. The
International Association of Currency Affairs honored the book with a
runner-up award in the Best New Currency Public Education Program
category at the 2007 Currency Conference in Bangkok, Thailand.
Stane Štraus continues to expand his knowledge and collection of
polymer bank notes, and maintains www.polymernotes.org, the world's
leading reference for polymer bank notes. He is a Paper Money Guaranty (PMG)
Authorized Dealer, a Life Member of the American Numismatic
Association (ANA), a Life Member of the International Bank Note
Society (IBNS), and a Life Member of the Canadian Paper Money Society
(CPMS).
